This thing is proving to be the best choice. Price was too high last month for something that needed some refurbishing. Well, seller got new tires, paint touch up and completely solved the armoring issues.

At 27k miles I yearn for it.

See those bubbles on the passenger window? There is where the three pieces of glass and the PVB separated from each other. The seller has fixed that on the 3 windows that had it.

Man, you already have a Citroën that won't start. Now you're just tempting fate.

What’s the damage in cash American? Or, I’ll convert it.

Asking price is U$18,5k , but I’m sure I can lower that.

Well, this would replace the Range Rover so.... a pseudo-win situation?

Replacing a Range Rover is never a win. It's just a loss with a healthy bank balance.

Only 27K miles?

I’ll probably end up buying Disco II in the near future.

Looks good, but E70 X5's have really dropped in value lately. Maybe you can pick one up instead?

My boss has a slightly older model of this and I’ve been able to check out a great deal of the current BMW range through his service loaners...

Oh my goodness. An armored, ten year old X5 with such low mileage seems rare no matter where you are in the world.

Only if they have one bazillion miles.

Where you live, of course, you do not need AWD. However, a big armored vehicle would certainly be useful. Wonder what the mileage would be?

27k miles.

I don’t really need the AWD or the size. A 1 series can deal really well with armoring and I can get around the city by subway but I just loved this thing.

Remember my friend with the ‘05 4.4 I mentioned before? He just sold it. Feels relieved because he doesn’t have to think about the transmission kick (those fail b/w 140k and 200k km, usually) and the next set of leaks anymore...

Having said that, keep Oppo posted if you buy it! Would be interesting to see how a low-mileage one of these does.

Does armored mean something different over there, or is this thing seriously bulletproof?

Either way, I love these! I wanted a 5.0 with a 3rd row, but it was so cramped back there I couldn’t talk my wife into it (which was obviously the right thing to do, since we’d have kids back there every time we drove it). But it handles so much better than the Escalade!

Yeah, level B4 armoring, every panel and gap is bulletproof.

I’ll probably end up buying one like it. Apart from brake pads and bushings I don’t think a low mileage X5 will give me much trouble.
